The City Council and the Estepona Flamenco Association ‘El Patio’ commemorate the International Day of Flamenco with an Open Day at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.

The day ‘Knowing Flamenco’ will be held on Wednesday, November 12, and includes a free flamenco singing workshop, with a double session at 18:00 and 20:00 hours, led by the singer Ana Fargas, prior confirmation of attendance at 699778574.
The Estepona City Council informs that on November 16 is celebrated the International Day of Flamenco, since UNESCO declared it Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2010. This celebration serves to commemorate the importance that this cultural manifestation has in the world. On this occasion, next Wednesday, November 12 will be held at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel the Open Day ‘Knowing Flamenco’.
This free initiative, aimed at audiences of all ages, from children to young people and adults, includes a flamenco singing workshop, with a double session, from 18:00 to 19:00 and from 20:00 to 21:00 hours, prior confirmation of attendance by phone 699778574.
The workshop will be led by the singer Ana Fargas, director of the Estepona Flamenco Association ‘El Patio’, and it will be the analysis of ‘a flamenco palo’, a style or musical form within flamenco, defined by its compass (rhythm), its melody, its poetic structure (lyrics) … with some illustrations of this artistic expression, by the students of flamenco singing of the Association.
The Estepona Flamenco Association ‘El Patio’ was founded in 2012 and is formed by a group of professionals who put their experience and means at the service of those who have some kind of interest in music, either to acquire basic knowledge, or to get started in the professional world.
