A hundred young cyclists participated on Sunday in the III Trofeo Villa de Estepona, the last event of the Provincial Cycling Circuit.

The City Council of Estepona reports that the final test of the XXVI Provincial Cycling Circuit Diputación de Málaga, in its modality of Road Schools, was held yesterday Sunday at the Fair and Sports Grounds with a spectacular result: almost 100 small cyclists gathered to participate in the III Villa de Estepona Trophy.
Despite the reduced calendar of this modality, with only two races, the excellent level enjoyed by the cycling schools of the province could be seen in a few days in which the participation and the good atmosphere that surrounded the tests have been really exceptional.
The local event, organized by the Unión Ciclista Virgen del Carmen C.D., together with the Andalusian Cycling Federation and the Estepona City Council, began at 11.00 am with the first rounds of competition for beginners and promising riders. During the sleeve of promises, the two leaders in the race fought in a frantic duel. Finally, the current Andalusian champion of Olympic cross country, Hanna Kassbi (C.D.C. Los Jululus) won almost on the same finish line to the current Andalusian champion of the discipline, Pablo Fernandez (C.D.C. Calabahía). Kassbi prepared the sprint regulating the appropriate distance to perform the lap set at an average of over 28 km / h in a great demonstration of strength and strategy. Both riders are virtually proclaimed overall winners in their categories.
Already on two laps of the course to complete the distance of 2,600 meters were disputed by the beginners. Once again, the level of the two categories in dispute was very even, and the final victory was decided in the last meters, with only two seconds of difference. In the same way, the winners were the leaders: David Infantes (C.D. Los Tope Gama) and Blanca García (C.D. Ronda Lucena) returned to ratify the triumphs achieved in the town of Coín.
Finally, the fry and children would dispute on five and nine laps their competitions. Vibrant and long final sprint with victory for Gerardo Vázquez (Wiber Miranda Bike School) over the leader, Miguel Salvador Corrales (C.D. Unión Virgen del Carmen). Both riders have shown a very high competitive level in these two tests of the provincial, where equality has been maximum between them. As for the women, the leader, María García (C.D. Ronda Lucena), emulated the result of her sister to obtain a hard-earned victory in a category also very close.
As for the children’s race, the sporting battle was thrilling. The final victory went to the leader, Álvaro Hidalgo (C.D.C. Ogíjares), in the sprint over José Infantes (C.D. Los Tope de Gama). As for the women, Amalia Vizcaíno (Klimatiza – Torcaldent – Makinón) won in a very tight sprint finish with her teammate Alejandra del Río.
The formal awards ceremony was presided over by the councilman attached to the delegation of Sport, Luis Miguel Gil, and Juan Baeza, president of the Club Deportivo Unión Virgen del Carmen.
