The Estepona City Council informs that the Brazilian artist Livia Alencar will exhibit her pictorial work ‘Color and Balance’ in Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas from April 12 to 24.
The inauguration of the exhibition, which consists of a total of 34 works, will take place next Friday, April 12, at 6 p.m., and can be visited until April 24 from Tuesday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with free access.
Livia Alencar was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She studied at the Santa Marcelina School and later began a career in medicine, but art and painting eventually led her in another direction. With her acrylic pastel and oil drawings and paintings, she was fortunate to be chosen to study with the great master Antonio Lopez in several summer courses. She also studied at St. Martin’s School in London, and the Brazilian painter Silvio Baptista introduced her to abstract painting.
She has always enjoyed playing with strong colors, mixed materials and trying new techniques. Over the years she has exhibited her work in several different countries.
As she points out, “I paint what I feel and try to transmit to the viewer what I have inside me: vibrant colors, light and joy. I have proudly received many kind words, dedicated by renowned art critics from all over the world”.
