Estepona City Council informs that the great guitarist Daniel Casares, and the vocalist of ‘Danza Invisible’, Javier Ojeda, will perform together in ‘La Movida Flamenca Festival’, next Thursday, August 1, at 22:00 hours, in the Angel Park, with free access.
It is known in the musical guild of Malaga the good harmony between Daniel Casares and Javier Ojeda from Estepona, both genuine icons of the music of our province, and both masters in their respective musical disciplines. For more than a decade they have been collaborating together occasionally, either in recordings or live concerts, and every time these meetings take place the public’s response has always been spectacular.
In fact, on the last occasion that both favorite sons of their respective municipalities coincided, on the night of San Juan in the Playa de la Rada, was when the spark that now leads them to present this project of “La Movida Flamenca” that aims to perpetuate in the municipality of Estepona. A different project that, in no way, aims to compete with the festival maelstrom of recent years on the Costa del Sol, but seeks distinction in the commitment to quality and emerging artists.
As a ‘pilot episode’, both artists present a unique adventure for the night of August 1; a joint concert in which they will offer the best of their respective repertoires, but intermingling, with the popero singing over the flamenco band and flamenco pulsing over the rock group. And, of course, with some numbers in which both artists will sing “their solitudes alone”, if this expression is worth anything. In addition, they include as guest artists two referents of the national music such as the flautist-saxophonist Jorge Pardo (Paco de Lucía, Camarón, etc…) and Javier Andreu (vocalist and leader of ‘La Frontera’) to turn this first day of August into a very, very special event.
As a preamble to what the joint impulse of Casares and Ojeda can bring, ‘La Movida Flamenca’ has the traces of turning the first Thursday of August into an unavoidable date for all the great music fans of Estepona.
