Estepona will host the VI Kyokushin Championship of Andalusia that will bring together 200 karatekas
The competition, which will be held for the third consecutive year in the city, adds in this edition the modality of katas. It will take place this Saturday, March 16 with free admission.
The councilman attached to the municipal delegation of Sports, Luis Miguel Gil Amores, and the president of the Ruiz Dojo Sports Club, Carlos Ruiz, accompanied by Estepona karate and European Champion 2022, Rafael Merchán, today presented the VI Kyokushin Championship of Andalusia, which will take place in Estepona this Saturday, March 16.
The mayor stressed the high participation of karateka, about 200, as well as the quality of the participants, some of whom hold national and international titles.
In addition, the municipal responsible has valued the great work that Carlos Ruiz has been doing for years in promoting this form of martial art, through which personal improvement is pursued through the control of mind and body.
For his part, the president of Club Deportivo Ruiz Dojo has announced that the championship will offer high-level fights, as among the participants are champions of Spain and international champions. Thus, he has insisted on the great opportunity for Estepona to have these exceptional karateka that will undoubtedly offer a show of control and discipline.
Also, with regard to the development of the competition, Carlos Ruiz has reported that it will be played in the modalities of kumite and katas, the latter is included this year as a novelty. The participating categories range from prebenjamín to master, both male and female, all divided by age and weight. The meeting will be held at the sports hall El Carmen in morning and afternoon, from 09.00 to 13.30 hours and from 16.00 to 20.00 hours, with free admission.
