The Estepona City Council informs that the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center will host next Friday, December 13, at 19.00 hours, the presentation of the book ‘El Picasso perdido’, by Juan Diego Gil.

The event will take place in the conference area, sixth floor of the Library of Contemporary Cultures, and admission will be free until full capacity is reached. The author from Estepona will be accompanied by the poet Carmen Sanchez Melgar (Institute of Studies Campogibraltareños).

Synopsis: ‘The lost Picasso’ is a fictional novel that begins with the discovery of an unpublished painting by Picasso. From there begins an investigation into its authenticity in which both the sophistication and the shadows of the art world are revealed. Accidental deaths, thefts and mysterious characters intermingle in this intriguing story that serves as an excuse to learn more about the brilliant artist from Malaga.

Juan Diego Gil Contreras has been passionate about writing since childhood, when he wrote stories for his schoolmates. After a life journey where he has exercised various and varied professions, literature has returned to occupy an important place in his life for some years, publishing stories in different blogs and cultural magazines.

Winner of the micro-story contest promoted by the Official College of Architects of Malaga in 2023, he published his first novel that same year, ‘The fifth moon’, a work of suspense that has enjoyed a good reception from the public. In this his second work, ‘El Picasso perdido’, published by ExLibric, he wanted to record everything he has learned in his work as a tour guide and, more specifically, his knowledge of the figure of Picasso, in addition to his background as a tireless traveler.
