La Casa de Las Tejerinas will host the presentation of the book ‘Guiños en el Alma’ by the actor and poet Miguel López Ramírez from Estepona

The literary presentation will take place next Friday, February 23, at 6:00 p.m., with free access.

The Estepona City Council informs that next Friday, February 23, at 18.00 hours, will take place in the Alfonso Gil Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de Las Flores, the presentation of the first solo poetry book by the actor and poet Miguel López Ramírez, ‘Guiños en el Alma’, in which he merges two of his passions: poetry and photography. As its title indicates, the author does not pretend to be a scholar in poetry, he only intends to touch the heartstrings of each reader, through his own life experience.

Guiños en el Alma’ is not a self-portrait, it is not a lyrical autobiography, but there is a lot of Miguel in his poetry, how he has lived his passions, his fears, his unknowns ….. Although the title of the book comes from one of the poems included in it, Miguel intends to wink at the souls of all those who read it, “with this he intends to show that in the face of feelings, we are all basically the same”, he says.

Miguel López Ramírez was born in Estepona in 1962 and is the eldest of three brothers. From a very young age he already showed his great love for theater and song. He was soaking up the great interpretations that his parents let him see in those mythical Estudio 1 of TVE, being Lola Herrera and José Bódalo, along with Bette Davis, in the cinema, the sources where he drank.

Although he is now retired, Miguel López began his professional career at the age of 18 in the Post Office, where he has worked all his life.

For the last forty years, he has been a member of the Municipal Theater Group of Estepona “Farándula”, where he has played an endless number of characters by authors such as Lorca, Shakespeare, Buero Vallejo, Antonio Gala or Tennessee Williams, among others. In addition to numerous group awards, he has won three prizes: Best Actor in the Theater Contests of Campillos, Ardales and Olvera, for the plays ‘La sombra del Tenorio’ and ‘Gaviotas subterráneas’. With this group he is currently promoting the play ‘Las manos de Eurídice’, premiered on April 21, 2023 at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel in Estepona. In his interpretative facet he has also participated in five short films.

He is a member of the Poetic Group of Estepona and the group, also cultural, ‘La Balada Nómada’, and the Cultural Associations ‘La Pasión, según Estepona’ and the Theater Group ‘Xeb-Alhamar’.

Regarding his literary facet, he is co-author of the poetry books ‘Con palabras’, ‘Ante el Amor’, ‘Voces solidarias’ and ‘Lírica Navidad’.

He is currently a contributor to the Radio Estepona program ‘Las Mañanas de Juanma Herrera’, with the section ‘Páginas de una vida’. Great fan of photography and singing, participating in numerous musical events in and out of Estepona. In his day he was also part of the Rondalla Muncipal de Estepona, now defunct, and was also exalter of the Virgen de los Remedios in 2011 and pregonero of the fair of San Isidro Labrador of Estepona in 2017.
