Photographer Antonio Montes organizes a solidarity exhibition at Casa de Las Tejerinas to build a school canteen in Nepal

The inauguration of the photography exhibition ‘Un click por Gatlang’ will take place on Thursday, May 23rd and will remain on display until June 5th, with free access.

Estepona City Council informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas will host an exhibition of solidarity photography ‘A click for Gatlang’ by local photographer Antonio Montes. The exhibition consists of 26 large format photographs that correspond to a series entitled “Children of Gatlang”, and will be inaugurated next Thursday, May 23, at 18.00 hours, with free access.

The author’s goal is to get help to build a school canteen in Gatlang, a village located in northern Nepal, off the traditional tourist routes. It is located at an altitude of 2,240 meters, in the area affected by the 2015 earthquake. The living conditions there are very hard, the population lives on livestock and agriculture, they lack resources, and children work from a very young age in these tasks, so school absenteeism is very high.

For donations, the account ES97 0081 7464 4300 0245 9755 has been set up at Banco Sabadell. Donations can also be made through Bizum at 640646775.

The exhibition can be visited until June 5, from Tuesday to Friday, from 09.00 to 20.00 hours, and Saturdays from 09.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 20.00 hours.

Antonio Montes was born in Estepona in 1967. He discovered his passion for photography with his first camera that he acquired on a trip to the Canary Islands. He is an active member of the collective Imagen de Fuengirola and Colectivo PhotoEstepona.

He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, highlighting his recent contribution to Fotografía Malagueña 2024 in Fuengirola.
