Students from seven local schools participate this Thursday in the ‘V Intercenter Solidarity Badminton Meeting’.

The competition will raise funds that will be destined to the special therapies that little Lara Pérez needs. It will be held on Thursday, November 13, from 09.00 to 14.00 hours, at the Polideportivo El Carmen.
The Estepona City Council reports that the Carmen Pavilion has hosted the ‘V Intercentros Solidario Badminton Meeting’.
It is expected that 160 young people of Secondary Education of the IES Mar de Alborán, Mediterráneo, Puerta del Mar, Monterroso and Profesor Hormigo, as well as secondary students of the Juan XXIII School and the Atalaya International School will participate.
These schools have been responsible for selecting and preparing the pairs that will represent them, while the Badminton Club will be responsible for the competitive system and the adaptation of the rules of the game.
This is one of the many sports activities that are carried out with the intention of promoting minority sports, facilitating sporting and equal participation between genders, and promoting the inclusion of people with different abilities.
The first edition of this meeting was dedicated to the Maternal and Child Hospital of Malaga-Ronald McDonald House and the Andrés Olivares Foundation; the second was for the Parkinson SOL Association of Estepona; the third for the Association of People with Disabilities AsDi-Es; and last year raised funds to cover therapies for little Jadow.
This activity is organized by the City of Estepona and the participating schools, in addition to the CEIP Valeriano Lopez, and the collaboration of UBUNTU Estepona and Estepona Badminton Club, which will be responsible for technical assistance. This year, the proceeds will go to defray the therapies needed by the little Lara Perez.
