Mahnaz Razavi. “My love for color and shape began with Persian rugs. As a child, I visited my grandmother’s factory and watched, enchanted, as the colors and textures were woven into complex patterns. I have been painting ever since.
My first mentor was Nima Petgar, one of Iran’s most famous artists. She taught me technique and instilled in me an appreciation for art history.
My love of painting lifts my spirit and my fascination with the human body is reinforced by a professional working life in physiotherapy. An ongoing study of anatomy and a life spent working with patients deepens my obsession with body forms.
Growing up in Iran, a working life in Sweden and a new one in Spain have provided me with a multicultural mindset, allowing me to be open-minded to new ideas and influences.
I continue to be fascinated by the touch of the brush on canvas, capturing the human body and expressing inner emotion.”
