The City Council and the ‘Unicorn’ Association pay tribute to ‘The Beatles’ on the 60th anniversary of the album ‘Qué noche la de aquél día’.

The tribute will begin on August 4, with the opening of the exhibition ‘The Beatles and Cinema’ in the Felipe VI Auditorium, and will continue on August 23 with the screening of the film ‘What a night that day’, to end on the 24th with a dance show choreographed by Laura and Sara Perea, and a tribute concert with ‘The Eleanor Rigby Band’.

The Estepona City Council is collaborating with the Cultural and Film Association ‘Unicornio’ in the programming of a tribute to the British band The Beatles, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the publication of the album What a night that day!

The entire program of events will take place at the Felipe VI Auditorium, and will begin on August 4, with the opening of the exhibition ‘The Beatles and Cinema’. The exhibition will take a look at the different films shot by the band such as ‘Help’ or ‘What a night that day’, and others influenced by their history or music, such as ‘Yesterday’ or ‘Across the universe’. In addition to posters referring to these films, we can find discography both on vinyl and CD of the group, as well as different merchandising inspired by this immortal band. The exhibition will remain open to the public until August 24, and can be visited during the Auditorium’s box office hours, Tuesday and Thursday, from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, and Thursday, from 17:00 to 20:00 hours, and on the days of events, from two hours before.

The tribute events will continue on Friday, August 23, at 20:30 hours, with the screening of the film ‘What a night that day!’ directed by Richard Lester and starring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in 1964, during the height of the ‘Beatlemania’. A Hard Day’s Night’ was the Beatles’ first foray into film. Free admission until full capacity is reached.

Finally, on Saturday, August 24, at 20:30 pm, will be held the show ‘The Beatles Show Dance’ choreographed by Laura and Sara Perea, followed by the concert ‘The Beatles and Cinema, 60th Anniversary’ with ‘The Eleanor Rigby Band’.

Tickets for this show 15 euros + booking fee, can be purchased at www.tafestepona.com, and at the Auditorium box office, the day of the show, from two hours before the start.
