The City Council announces the third ‘BookFace’ contest that rewards the art of melting with the cover of a book.

A single winning photograph will be chosen on the basis of creativity, technique and originality.
Estepona City Council informs that the municipal delegation of Culture, through the Municipal Public Library, opens the deadline to participate in the ‘III Contest ‘Bookface’ to reward the most original photographs trying to fit the face or any part of the body with the cover of a book.
Bookface’ is a trend that has existed for several years on social networks, which consists of taking photographs of oneself trying to match one’s face or any part of the body with the cover of a book. In this case it is about fitting the image with more or less technique, grace and imagination.
The Deputy Mayor of the Sociocultural Area, Paula Herrera, announced that in this call may participate any person registered in Estepona, without age limit. Each contestant may compete with a maximum of two unpublished photographs, with the only condition that the title of the work of the book is visible.
The photographs will be sent by e-mail to the address admbiblioteca@estepona.es in jpg, jpeg or png format.
For its part, the councilor attached to the Sociocultural area, Macarena Diánez, said that the deadline for submission of photos will remain open until 24.00 hours on April 19, 2024. She also warns that photographs that may violate the right to honor, personal and family privacy, or that are disrespectful to religious beliefs and sexual condition of people will not be admitted to the contest.
A jury formed by staff of the Sociocultural Area will select a single winning photograph, based on the creativity, technique and originality of the photograph. The winner of the contest will receive an endowment of books worth 100 euros, to be chosen from the available stock of the local bookstore designated by the City Council of Estepona. The awarding of the prize to the winner will take place on Tuesday, April 23, International Book Day.
A selection of the participating photographs will be temporarily exhibited at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
