The City Council celebrates the ‘Days of Polish Culture’ within the program for the promotion of the integration of foreign residents

They will take place on November 13 and 14, and will be dedicated to Polish cinema with a tribute to director Juliusz Machulski and the screening of his latest film ‘Vinci 2’, partially shot in Estepona.

The City Council of Estepona will celebrate next November 13 and 14 a new activity framed in the program ‘Sharing Cultures’, aimed at promoting the participation of foreign residents in the city in social and cultural activities. On this occasion the event is dedicated to Polish culture and will be held over two days.

The ‘Days of Polish Culture’ will be dedicated to Polish cinema and, in particular, to the figure of one of the most renowned directors in the country, Juliusz Machulski, who will be honored for his career.

The activities will be inaugurated on Thursday, November 13, at 5:00 p.m., at the Mirador del Carmen with a monograph dedicated to the film career of Juliusz Machulski (who will be attended by the director himself), author of emblematic titles that have marked the Polish cinema of the last decades such as ‘Seksmisja’, ‘Vabank’, ‘KIngsajz’, ‘Kiler’ or ‘Vinci’, among many others.

The session will analyze the keys to his style, his impact on European cinema and his particular way of fusing comedy, social criticism and visual narrative. The meeting will be attended by specialists and collaborators close to the director and specialized press. It will be held in Spanish. The program will continue on Friday, November 14, at 19:00 hours, at the Felipe VI Theater Auditorium, with the special screening of the film ‘Vinci 2’, second part of the cult classic ‘Vinci’ (2004) and partially shot in the municipality of Estepona.

The session will be attended by members of the cast; among others, Robert Wieckiewicz, Kamila Baar and Maria Ruiz Lopez, as well as the producer and representatives of Polish cinema, who will present the film and share experiences of the shooting and anecdotes about the collaboration with Machulski.

Vinci 2′ takes up the spirit of the first installment, combining intrigue, comedy and art in a story set in the universe of art theft. The film promises a unique cinematic evening for lovers of European cinema.

Both events are supported by the City Council of Estepona, the Polish Embassy in Spain, private companies and the largest production company in Poland and one of the largest in Central Europe, WFDiF.

The ‘Days of Polish Culture’ in Estepona is an event that unites cultures and promotes integration through the project ‘Sharing Cultures’, highlighting the diversity and richness of traditions present in the city. Within this annual initiative have already held other activities such as St. Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s national holiday, the Italian Festival, the Day of the Foreign Resident, the Day of Ukrainian Culture, French-speaking countries, Scandinavian countries, Germany or the United Kingdom, among others.

Estepona City Council has recently received the prestigious Joan Hunt Award, granted by the Provincial Council of Malaga and the CUDECA Foundation, for the municipal initiative ‘Sharing Cultures’. The award has recognized this program as “an example of coexistence”, highlighting the work developed from the Consistory “to make diversity a strength, demonstrating that integration is key to building open and inclusive societies”.
