The City Council initiates the procedure for the concession of five new booths at the Fair Park

The Official Gazette of the Province of Malaga (BOPMA) has published today the award procedure with the requirements for interested parties.
The Estepona City Council has opened the procedure for the concession for the construction and operation of five new booths in the Fair and Sports Park. These booths will be fixed, so they can be used throughout the year, according to the festive periods of municipal authorization. The purpose of the concession is to continue providing the fairgrounds of Estepona with adequate infrastructure to cover the annual fairs and festivals organized in the city. In addition, the aim is to take advantage of a large part of the spaces generated in the area to provide, during the rest of the year, a set of recreational facilities to expand the existing ones.
The concession, to be awarded by open procedure, is limited to five plots. Three of them have an area of 100 square meters, the fourth has 99.92 meters, and the fifth, 144.90 square meters. These are public plots. The new booths will be built on site, so they will be fixed. They will have two floors, aligned on the ground and upper floors.
The functional characteristics and interior distribution establish, as a minimum, the following rooms: living room with dancing area, bar (which may be included in the previous room), kitchen, storage room and toilets with access through an independent vestibule, which must be in proportion to the surface area of each booth as established in the regulations of the General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) applicable to it.
The maximum term of the concession will be 40 years. The minimum annual fee established in the bidding documents is 3,141 euros plus any applicable taxes, if any, for plots of 100 square meters. For plots of 99.92 meters, it is 3,138.49 euros; and for larger plots, it is 4,551.31 euros.
The awarding of the concession will be made in view of the applications made. In the event of a tie, a draw will be held. Bidders may only be awarded a single booth, even if they bid in order of priority for several booths.
Individuals or legal entities that are concessionaires of a booth at the fairgrounds may not participate in the bidding process. Nor may bid those who have a stake of at least 25% in the current concessionaires of booths at the fairgrounds.
The concession award procedure has gone on public exhibition for 20 days, as reported today in the Official Gazette of the Province of Malaga (BOPMA). It also provides that the successful bidder must maintain the buildings, facilities and other facilities built and keep them in perfect working order, safety, cleanliness and hygiene during the term of the concession, making at its own expense as many repairs and replacements as necessary.
Furthermore, during the term of the concession, he is obliged to make at his own expense all major and minor repairs, both ordinary and extraordinary, that may be necessary to maintain the complex in perfect conditions of use and operation, in order to keep it in a state to serve the use for which it is intended, without the City Council having to pay any amount for these repairs.
