The City Council modernizes the fleet of vehicles of the Local Police with the acquisition of three new cars

The company has opted for hybrid models with lower consumption and emissions, which will be equipped with the most advanced equipment. The contract includes the addition of a fourth vehicle to the municipal fleet.

The Estepona City Council is going to reinforce the fleet of vehicles of the Local Police with the acquisition of three new units, and also of the municipal vehicle fleet, which will incorporate a new car. The four vehicles to be acquired will be hybrids, low consumption and low emissions. This is a response to the need to provide both the police force and the municipal fleet with the necessary vehicles to be able to provide the services provided by the City Council, while meeting the needs of renewal and rationalization of the fleet by seeking more efficient and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

The open procurement for the acquisition of the cars has been divided into two lots. The first corresponds to the three vehicles for the Local Police, at a cost of 198,872.05 euros (VAT included). The second lot is for the vehicle intended for the municipal fleet, with a value of 51,290.69 euros (VAT included). Thus, the total estimated value of the contract amounts to 250,162.74 euros (VAT included), although the award criteria prioritize the best economic offer. The shortest delivery time and the extended warranty for each car will also be valued.

In the case of police vehicles, 5-door SUV models in white, with hybrid fuel, a minimum power of 200 hp, and automatic gearbox will be chosen. In terms of safety, they must have ABS brakes, trajectory control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian/cyclist detection, traffic sign recognition, emergency braking assistant, tire pressure control, and lane change warning and prevention. They will also have built-in navigation and Google service, wireless smartphone connection, and digital dashboard.

The vehicles will be transformed and adapted to police cars in compliance with European homologation regulations and the minimum safety and quality features established in the tender specifications for the acquisition by the City Council. Among them is the development and implementation of software for the integrated management and control of the different police devices and tools: light and sound systems for priority emergency signaling, video imaging system, recording of camera images, communications and digital mobile transmitter function and license plate reading and management system, radar speed measurement devices, and database of legislation, municipal ordinances, traffic regulations and other management software for public administrations or police management. All this will be completed with the communications system, interior partitions and the most complete equipment that each police unit must have.

The vehicle will be delivered labeled, according to the corporate image established by the Ministry of Interior of the Junta de Andalucía, with certified reflective materials. All the details of the lettering will be supervised by the technical managers of the Local Police of Estepona.

The transformation works of the vehicles also include the installation of radio communications equipment and its corresponding special antennas, as well as all programming, adjustments and configurations of such equipment with the Communications Network available to the Local Police, so that for the realization of these special works the company that performs the transformation of the vehicles must be duly approved and registered by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.

As for the fourth vehicle, which will be destined to the municipal fleet, it will also be an SUV, hybrid, five-door vehicle in white, with a minimum power of 200 hp and low consumption and emissions. It will have the same safety features and multimedia equipment as the previous three vehicles.

The minimum warranty period for the vehicles supplied will be three years, starting from the date of signature of the acceptance certificate.
