The City Council organizes a free Theater Festival at the Orquidario Botanic Park
From August 15 to 17, at 10:00 p.m., with the Municipal Theater Group ‘Farándula’ and Black Sheep Producciones, with free access.
The City Council of Estepona has organized a Theater Festival for the next days, 15, 16 and 17 August, at 22:00 hours, which will be staged at the Botanical Orchid Park.
The free program will begin on Thursday 15, with the humorous play ‘Varietés’, by the Municipal Theatre Group ‘Farándula’, under the direction of Luque, and will continue on Friday 16 with the musical play ‘Mouling Legend’, with Black Sheep Productions, which will also represent the musical by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrosi ‘La Llamada’, on Saturday August 17.
Varietés: this “lyrical-tango-circus” show of its own creation, which mixes music, dance and comedy, is a comedy tribute to all those who have dedicated their lives to the magic of the stage. The plot takes as a starting point one of those variety companies, not of great quality, that toured the villages of the peninsula during the hard post-war period, as a means to survive; because that was what most of them did, going from town to town offering people a show of many artistic disciplines. Something they were grateful for, because as Saturnino Morales said “… at that time there was nothing to have fun with in the towns”, and the arrival of these variety companies was welcomed with great enthusiasm.
Mouling Legend: Christian, a bohemian writer travels to Paris in search of inspiration, on this trip he meets some strange characters that will show him the change of bohemian life and the sacred principles of life, truth, freedom and love. Between brothel lights and Can-can skirts, he falls in love with a courtesan who will teach him that the best thing that can happen in life is to love and be loved back.
The Call: A couple of young teenagers prepare their mischief at a camp organized by the parish of their town. The missionaries in charge of the place will want to guide them towards the right path to follow, but there are times when even the strongest faith can be shaken. Dreams, decisions and heavenly visions.
