The City Council organizes chess games on the boards of the Paseo Marítimo all summer long.
The free activity ‘Chess for All’ will be open to the general public and will be held until August 23 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The Estepona City Council informs that the Municipal Sports Chess School has started the rapid chess games and giant games on the large format boards of the Paseo Marítimo. As in previous years, the activity ‘Chess for All’ is free and open to the public. It will take place until August 23rd from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
This activity is part of the Chess Promotion Plan launched by the City Council of Estepona in 2011 and has allowed, as a pioneering educational experience, that all children born from 2004 have received training to learn to play chess, a game that offers important intellectual benefits to those who practice it.
The next summer appointment with chess will take place on August 1st, from 20.00 to 24.00 hours, with the celebration of the XXXVIII Nocturno de Ajedrez ‘Ciudad de Estepona’, also in the Paseo Marítimo. This is one of the most multitudinous amateur tournaments of those organized in the country.
On the other hand, the Municipal Sports Chess School will give chess classes during the months of July and August for the groups Under 8-10, from 11.00 to 12.00 hours; and Under 12-14-16, from 12.00 to 13.00 hours, from Monday to Thursday at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, and on Fridays at the Mayor’s Office of Cancelada with the same schedule.
