When December arrives, Jerez de la Frontera and its surroundings are the scene of one of the most typical cultural and festive customs of Andalusian folklore: the zambombas. Since the 18th century, on the eve of Christmas Eve, friends, neighbors and family gathered and sang and danced Christmas carols. The zambombas were improvised in the yards of neighbors, corrals, in the courtyards, and in the streets and squares with the joy of the whole town to celebrate Christmas with the most characteristic song, the zambombas, flamenco rhythms but with lyrics inspired by the Bible. Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, in recent years it has become a phenomenon that attracts thousands of visitors nationally and internationally.
Invitations can be picked up at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, from 11.00 to 14.00 hours, and from 17.00 to 20.00 hours.
