Synopsis. We travel to a Christmas in the late nineteenth century, where we will meet our protagonist, Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge, a stingy, grumpy and lonely man who does not like Christmas and leads a solitary and workaholic way of life.
As Christmas approaches and, after refusing his nephew’s invitation to celebrate Christmas Eve dinner with his family, Scrooge is visited by three ghosts; one shows him his past, another his present and the last one shows him what his future will be like.
Will these three ghosts be able to touch his heart and make him change?
With a story full of tenderness, humor, irony and the sharp social criticism that is characteristic in all of Dickens’ literature, ‘A Christmas Carol’ is a jewel of universal literature that seems to be tailor-made for our unjust 21st century society, keeping intact, 150 years later, its capacity to move and thrill.
