The City Council presents the official T-shirt of the III Half Marathon Senda Litoral ‘Trofeo Ikos Andalusia’.
The race, for which more than 400 athletes have registered so far, will be held on May 5 and will cover a total of 21.097 kilometers. The registration period is open and the race is limited to a maximum of 700 participants.
The councilman attached to the delegation of Sports, Miguel Angel Gil, the technical director of the race, Jose Juarez, and the representative of the hotel Ikos Andalusian, Janette Gonzalez, today presented the official shirt that will wear the participants of the III Half Marathon Senda Litoral ‘Trofeo Ikos Andalusia’, which will take place on May 5.
The municipal responsible has stated that this test despite its short history has become a benchmark in Andalusia and an appointment highly appreciated by athletes, by the uniqueness of the environment in which it takes place and because it is a challenge for them by the difficulty of the route.
In addition, the mayor stressed that this sporting activity is set against the backdrop of the great sustainable infrastructure that has been executed to unite the entire maritime front, allowing vertebrate the city from the sea and enjoy enclaves that were inaccessible and now offer a privileged view of the city.
On the other hand, José Juárez has explained that the official T-shirt that will be given to the participants, will be accompanied by socks and a slipper. He has also informed that registrations are still open and can be made through the web www.dorsalchip.es. The price is 20 euros for those registered until April 9, and 25 euros until April 30. So far there are more than 400 registered, being the quota that has been set at a maximum of 700 participants.
The categories are U-20, U-23, Senior, Master A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H and the category for people with functional diversity, which will have to prove a minimum disability of 33 percent.
The race, which is organized by the Club Atletismo Estepona and the City Council, will run for a total of 21.097 kilometers, starting at 09.30 hours from the street Montemayor de Cancelada, next to Tenencia de Alcaldía. The first five kilometers will run through the urbanization of this urban nucleus until reaching the first refreshment point (km5) where the route will begin along the Coastal Path until reaching the Estepona Promenade, which will be run by the participants until reaching the Fishing Port.
Then they will go around the lighthouse and follow the route along the Avenida de España until the confluence with the Avenida Andalucía; they will pass through the small square Ortiz to enter the Calle Real and at the end will link with the Avenida Juan Carlos I to the Parque Ferial y Deportivo and reach the finish line of the Athletics Stadium by the Marathon start.
The circuit will be controlled at all times by members of the various security forces, Civil Protection and volunteers. In addition, there will be checkpoints along the route, with the presence of judges from the Andalusian Athletics Federation. There will be four refreshment points at kilometers 5, 10, 15 and 19. In addition, the organization will provide buses for the movement of runners to the starting area and a checkroom vehicle. Once the race is over, there will be no buses to return to the starting point.
