The Estepona City Council opens the deadline for the presentation of candidatures for the Queens and Ladies of the Fair of Cancelada 2024.
Registration will be open from June 14 to June 28.
The deputy mayor of the Extraradio area, Begoña Ortiz, reports that from June 14 to 28 will remain open the deadline for submission of nominations for queens and ladies of the Fair of the Barriada de Cancelada.
Those interested must be registered in Estepona and provide a photocopy of the national identity card and contact telephone. Minors who do not have ID must submit a photocopy of the registration form in the Family Book and authorization document of parents and / or legal guardians, available at the Mayor’s Office of Cancelada, where all formalities for registration in the contest will be made (tel.: 952 88 37 85, extension 1152, from 10.00 to 14.00 hours or e-mail tacancelada@estepona.es).
Begoña Ortiz explained that there are two categories: Children, in which girls from 6 to 12 years old can participate; and Youth, for young people from 16 to 22 years old. They may not participate in this contest who have been elected Queens in previous years in the same category in which they wish to compete. The children candidates will be chosen by drawing lots.
The election ceremony of the procession of the Fair of the Neighborhood, which will consist of Queen and two ladies in each category, Children and Youth, will be held July 12, at 21.00 pm, in Montemayor Street, where the award will also be presented to the winner of the photography contest poster ‘Cover of the Fair of the Neighborhood of Cancelada 2024’.
The event will be enlivened by the dance academy ‘Sólo Flamenco’, by Ana Guerrero, and the flamenco-pop group ‘Los Piratas’.
