The Estepona City Council performs a complete cleaning of the exterior canvas of the Exhibition and Conference Center

The project includes pressure cleaning with hot water and waterproofing of the roof to improve building maintenance.

The Estepona City Council informs that a specialized cleaning team is carrying out the exterior cleaning of the canvas that covers the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses. This is a comprehensive intervention that includes a deep pressure cleaning with hot water, with the aim of maintaining in optimal conditions this emblematic building of the city. During the cleaning process, a team of highly specialized operators is in charge of carrying out tasks that require the use of specific means adapted to the complexity of the structure. Due to the size and architectural characteristics of the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos, the workers must perform their work suspended, accessing the highest areas by means of a system of anchors to ensure maximum safety and efficiency during the intervention. Each worker has between three and four anchor points that allow him to move around the roof surface, thus ensuring thorough and complete work over the entire length of the tarpaulin.

To carry out this cleaning, several pressure washers are being used that project hot water under pressure, which effectively removes accumulated dirt, traces of environmental contamination and other agents that can deteriorate the material over time. In addition, the workers are paying special attention to the lower areas of the roof, where humidity and dirt accumulate more frequently, cleaning them and then waterproofing them in order to reinforce the protection of the building. Also included in this action is the cleaning of all the manholes and pipes. These tasks are essential to ensure proper drainage of rainwater and avoid accumulations that could cause leaks or structural damage.

The Councillor for Culture, Macarena Diánez, said that with this comprehensive action, the City of Estepona seeks to improve the maintenance and upkeep of the Exhibition and Conference Center, an emblematic building that is a landmark for cultural and social activity in the city. In this regard, he recalled that the City Council also recently carried out cleaning work on the inside of the roof of the palace.
