The Estepona Solidarity Association joins the Noche en Blanco with the dramatized visit ‘Stories and Legends of Xeb-Alhamar’.

The event, based on the book by Manuel Sánchez Bracho, will take place on June 1 at 12 p.m. in the historic center. It is limited to 25 people with prior registration
The Estepona Town Hall informs that, as part of the celebration of the event ‘La Noche en Blanco’, the association Estepona Solidaria has organized a guided and dramatized night tour through the historic center based on the book ‘Relatos y Leyendas de Xeb-Alhamar’ and in memory of its author, Manuel Sánchez Bracho.
Greatly interested in the history and customs of Estepona, writer, teacher and flamencologist, Manuel Sanchez Bracho culminated a research work with the collection and exhibition of a series of stories and legends “alive” that were transmitted through several generations and that reveal, in a way, the ideology of past historical periods.
As a result of this research, he wrote the book ‘Relatos y Leyendas de Xeb-Alhamar’, in which 32 stories and legends are presented with a common denominator: being circumscribed to the same geopolitical framework, the foothills of Sierra Bermeja in periods of social or military conflict. Most of them refer to a specific chronological period, the fifteenth century, characterized by the great transformations suffered, in general, by the former Nasrid kingdom of Granada, and the Malaga soil, in particular.
Estepona Solidaria will give the opportunity to live in first person the ‘Stories and Legends of Xeb-Alhamar’ on Saturday June 1 from 12 pm. Those interested should register in advance by emailing fiestas@estepona.es providing their contact details.
The activity is free and is limited to a maximum group of 25 people who will be selected in order of registration. There will be a single tour, with an approximate duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, starting and ending at the Plaza de las Flores.
A group of actors will represent these stories, some of love, some of fear, some of hope …, in the place where they supposedly occurred and, accompanied by a tour guide, will tour the historic center of Estepona made a ‘trip’ in time.
