The Mayor receives Daniel Muñoz Navas, member of the Spanish National Soccer Team, from Estepona.
The player, who belongs to the youth team of Atlético de Madrid, has been called up by the Spanish National Soccer Team to participate in championships such as the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, which was held a few weeks ago.
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, has received today the young Estepona Daniel Muñoz Navas, one of the promises of Spanish soccer.
The footballer, who belongs to the youth team of Atletico Madrid, has excelled in recent years for his game, being called on numerous occasions by the Spanish national soccer team to participate in international championships. Among them stands out his participation in the U-17 World Cup held just a few weeks ago in Indonesia.
The councilman has highlighted the sporting work that Daniel Muñoz has done since he was a child and has shown his conviction that he will achieve important achievements in the world of soccer. “His enthusiasm, his talent with the ball and the discipline with which he trains will reserve him an important place in the history of Spanish soccer,” said García Urbano.
From a family with a soccer tradition, Daniel Muñoz (2006) began playing at the age of 6 in the pre-benjamin category of the Municipal Soccer School, where he already showed an important capacity. Little by little he was growing sportingly, burning stages in a precocious way.
After the Municipal School of Football, he played for a few years in Estepona Fútbol Base, to then move to Málaga F.C. Subsequently, in August 2018, he made the leap to Atlético de Madrid, where he is considered one of its great promises.
The mayor has indicated that for the city it is “a pride” that the name of Estepona is linked to that of a young man with such an interesting projection in such a competitive field as soccer.
