The councilman is confident that the Estepona athlete will be one of those selected to represent the Spanish team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, today received the Estepona sailor Ana Moncada, responsible for achieving last January that Spain was classified for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 in the ILCA6 class (Women’s Laser).
The councilor has congratulated Ana Moncada for this sporting success and wished her luck for the upcoming competitions in which she may be selected to represent the Spanish team in the Olympics to be held this summer.
This young 22-year-old sailor is currently number 40 in the world ranking. She is from a few days ago runner-up of Spain in the ILCA6 category and has previously been champion of Spain, champion of Europe U21 and youth in 2019, the year in which she was also runner-up world youth.
The first mayor has given her the flag of Estepona to accompany her in her future sporting challenges and noted that Ana Moncada is a reference for people of her generation for representing values such as overcoming, effort and determination.
