The municipal initiative ‘2023, Year of the Bicycle in Estepona’ concludes this Sunday with the celebration of the twelfth Pedal Day.

With this activity, the City Council aims to encourage the use of bicycles and promote a city with a higher quality of life. The bike ride will take place at 10:00 am, from the Plaza Antonia Guerrero.

The Estepona City Council reports that next Sunday, December 10, will be held the twelfth edition of the Pedal Day, an activity included in the program ‘2023, Year of the Bike in Estepona’.

The Plaza Antonia Guerrero will once again be the location from where the cycling tour group will depart and ride through the main streets and avenues of the town center, until it arrives back to the starting point. From 09:00 to 09:45 hours, it will be possible to register and stamp the cyclist passport, with the departure scheduled for 10:00 hours. The procession will be directed and secured by members of the Local Police, volunteers from the Local Civil Protection Group and staff of the municipal delegation of Sports.

In this municipal initiative, which is aimed at both children and adults, have already involved more than 2,000 people in the eleven editions held this year. The tenth edition, which raised funds to pay for the treatment needed by a child with cerebral palsy Esteponero, broke a record of participation, with nearly half a thousand cyclists.

The bike rides have been held on the second Sunday of each month, with some exceptions, with a route of about 5 kilometers. Both the points of departure and arrival have been held in emblematic places of the city, and may vary, so as to cover different areas and centers of the town. In this way, participants also enjoy the revitalized enclaves of the municipality and the new spaces gained for pedestrians.

Participants can register on the day of the race, up to 15 minutes before the start. And, as in previous editions, at the end of the bike ride, a bicycle will be raffled among all participants.
