Laura Borrás, Ceuta, 1980. “Perhaps, due to my somewhat unfinished childhood, or perhaps to the irrepressible urge to discover other worlds, communication has been, and is, one of the pillars where I, as a human being, make sense,” says the writer. “My curious nature led me to a diverse training, namely: journalist, camera operator, photographer, sign language interpreter… and to a varied professional experience, from the seriousness of a newsroom, to voice-over in a funny radio program, to photographic collaboration with the image bank of the Ministry of Education and Science, to photographer at the Center of Contemporary Art of Malaga. Thanks to a scholarship, I moved to France to work in the audiovisual production department of a company. And with immense affection, I remember those months at a Brazilian university, where I had the opportunity to do research in the international relations department.”
“Among many stumbles and some mountain climbs, I have had the great fortune to have made about thirty photographic exhibitions in Spain. Everything I have done, better or worse, has helped me grow and smile a lot. The need to understand what surrounds me and the insatiable appetite to learn, have hung me a backpack on my back, a camera in one hand and a travel diary in the other. My first language to relate to the world never needed a pencil, a smile was enough. Then came others already regulated, but that and a thousand other stories, may become, who knows, a story”.
