The Plenary of the City Council of Estepona has today initially approved a municipal ordinance to regulate the management and operation of the Botanical-Orchidarium Park, one of the main tourist attractions of the city.
This facility has established itself as one of the spaces that receives more visits throughout the year. According to the latest data, in 2023 it exceeded 45,000 visits for the first time, reaching 45,600, which represents an average of 3,800 users per month.
This number of visits represents an increase of close to 10% compared to 2022, when the total reached 42,777, a number that meant even then returning to those recorded by the Orchidarium until 2019, the period prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
The data compiled by the concessionaire of the Botanical Orchid Park show that the period of maximum influx is the period comprised in the spring season, coinciding with the flowering season of many of the species that are housed.
Visitors come from the national territory but also from outside our borders. Citizens of the United Kingdom, Portugal, Germany or countries of Central Europe and the Nordic territory have taken into account the visit to this enclave when designing their vacations in the town or on the Costa del Sol.
On the other hand, note that the City Council will continue to grant two annual invitations to each citizen registered in Estepona.
