Estepona City Council reports that next Friday, February 2, at 20:30 pm, will be replayed at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel the play ‘Menu of the day’, by the Municipal Theatre Group ‘Farándula’, under the direction of Luque, and Sebastian Marquez, as assistant director.
In 2008, when the Municipal Theater Group ‘Farándula’ celebrated its 25th anniversary, two of its members, Davinia Gil and Fátima Ramos, teenagers at that time, premiered the play “Menú del día”, by Marilia Samper. A vitalist and funny tragicomedy, which speaks of friendship and dreams, and the fear of change, of the future where happiness is found and where we all have to get to if we face life with courage.
Now, 15 years later, and coinciding with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the theater group of Estepona, the same protagonists return to stage this renewed show, in the key of comedy, and with an age of the actresses, now yes, according to the characters they play, two women trapped in the routine of a hard job, as cooks in a restaurant.
Synopsis: Pepa and Chelo work in the kitchen of a roadside restaurant, where they spend their lives without much news: Pepa puts up with a husband who treats her like a mop, and Chelo feels trapped having to take care of her sick mother.
Every day their lives are illuminated by the story they see in their favorite soap opera. A window to an unreachable world that suddenly, and from afar, becomes real when they have the chance to travel to meet their idols. A contest opens a hope to get out of that kitchen, to escape from their lives.
Contribution: 5 euros. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, from one hour before the performance. All proceeds will benefit the Fibromyalgia Association of Estepona, AFIMES.
