Verdi’s opera Nabucco comes to the Felipe VI Auditorium Theater, with 70 artists on stage and first international soloists from the National Opera Theater of Moldova.

Next Sunday, November 16, from 7:00 pm, with subtitles in Spanish. This opera, which was Verdi’s first great success, contains the famous chorus of Hebrew slaves ‘Va, pensiero’.

The City Council of Estepona reports that the company Leonor Gago Artist Management ‘LGAM’ will present at the Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI a new and majestic production of the opera ‘Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi, with the iconic chorus ‘Va, pensiero’, considered an anthem of resistance that has moved and continues to thrill entire generations.

The councilor attached to the delegation of Culture and Festivals, Macarena Diánez, has reported that the representation will take place this Sunday, November 16, at 19:00 pm, and that will be offered a single function, with subtitles in Castilian. In addition, the mayor has highlighted the staging that will feature a cast of over 70 artists and first international soloists from the National Opera Theatre of Moldova, as the baritone Pedro Castillo.

Also, the municipal responsible has highlighted the great opportunity to enjoy in our city of this great lyrical tragedy of the composer Giuseppe Verdi. It was premiered on March 9, 1842 at La Scala in Milan, and despite not being one of Verdi’s most performed operas, Nabucco was his first great success, catapulting him to fame.

For his part, the baritone Pedro Castilllo, who will play the protagonist Nabucco, explained that this opera, which will be performed in four acts, offers moments of intense lyricism and choral grandeur. He also highlighted the quality of the voices, such as the soprano Amparo Navarro and mezzo-soprano María Luísa Corbacho, as well as the colorful costumes worn by all the artists, “which will undoubtedly be an acoustic and visual enjoyment for all attendees”.

Pedro Carrillo, Baritone

A graduate of the Accademia di Alto Perfeccionamiento of the Torre del Lago Puccini Festival, Pedro Carrillo debuted the role of Michele in Puccini’s “Il Tabarro” in 2014.

In 2016 he was part of the cast of the Opera “Jr. Butterfly” by the Japanese composer S. Saegusa. Also in that year he made his debut at the Teatro Politeama in Lecce as “Rigoletto”, obtaining a resounding success with audiences and critics.

In January 2017 he made his debut in the staging of Rossini’s Opera “L’occasione fa il ladro” at the Merida Fest, in the city of Merida, Mexico. He also took on the roles of “Nabucco” and “Scarpia” in two tours in Spain, with the National Opera of Moldova. She made her debut as “Macbeth” at the end of 2018, with the Moldovan National Opera, CONCERLIRICA.

In 2019 he sang the role of Giorgio Germont for the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito of the Dominican Republic, obtaining a resounding personal success and in January 2020 he performed the role of Figaro in Rossini’s Barber of Seville, for the Taranto Opera Festival (Italy).

In 2021, he sang the role of Macbeth at the Festival Internazionale Maria Biesu, in Chisinau, Moldova, the role of “Kanva” in the centenary dell’Opera “La Leggenda di Sakuntala” by Alfano, at the Teatro Tchaikovsky di Kiev and the role of “Il ladro” in the production of “Il Piccolo Marat” by P. Mascagni at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno. In January 2022 he debuted with the role of “Figaro” in “Le Nozze di Figaro” at the Taranto Opera Festival. He then performed the role of Amonasro in the Theaters of Alicante, Elche and Ourense, in a production of LG Artist Management.

In 2023, Pedro Carrillo developed an intense schedule, performing in Italy the main roles in the operas “Il Trovatore”, “Macbeth”, “Tosca”, among others. In 2024 he retakes the role of Iago in the Opera “Otello” in different Spanish theaters, with the production of LG Artist Management.
