Cancelada will host on March 14 the Spring Solidarity Market for the benefit of the AECC

More than thirty craft stalls, children’s workshops and musical and dance performances will be part of this day of solidarity to be held in the José Vázquez Espinosa square.

The City Council of Estepona informs that next Saturday, March 14 in the neighborhood of Cancelada the Spring Solidarity Market, an initiative to benefit the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) to be held from 10:00 to 20:00 hours in the Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa.

The event will bring together more than thirty stalls offering handmade products such as jewelry, handbags, children’s clothing and other handmade items.

The day will also feature a floral workshop that will include, from 11:00 a.m. a workshop on planting alveoli by the civil engineer, Irene Santos, aimed at children. Subsequently, there will be a workshop of composition of bouquets of flowers for adults taught by Gema Gonzalez of Costa Jardin nurseries.

The program of the market will be completed with various performances and exhibitions that will enliven the day, including the performance of the choir Son y Sal, an exhibition and class of “Cardio Ballet” taught by Professor Vanesa Ramos and the performance of the dance school ‘La Milana’.

Live music will arrive from 17 hours with the performance of the group Kalima.

During the day there will also be a solidarity bar managed by volunteers from the Spanish Association Against Cancer, whose profits will go entirely to support the work done by this entity in research, prevention and care for cancer patients.

The councilor of Extrarradio, Begoña Ortiz, has stated that ‘events like this not only encourage participation and neighborhood cohesion, but also support a fundamental cause such as the fight against cancer. Therefore, we encourage all neighbors to come and enjoy a day of solidarity, cultural and family’.

In this regard the municipal responsible has highlighted the importance of having in Estepona with a headquarters of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (Calle Terraza 170), which offers free assistance to cancer patients and their families, such as psychological support, physiotherapy service and social care, as main services, as well as hospital and home accompaniment of patients in Estepona. They also offer other free activities such as yoga, dance, handicrafts, sewing, roché, English, French, painting, writing and reading.

Schedule of the Activities Program:

– 11:00 h – Alveolus sowing and bouquet composition workshop.

– 12:00 h – Performance by the Son y Sal choir.

– 13:00 h – Exhibition and Cardio Ballet class with Vanesa Ramos

– 13:30 h – Performance by the dance school ‘La Milana’.

– 17:00 h – Concert by the group Kalima.
