City Council formalizes the contract to build two sports courts in Nueva Atalaya

They will be integrated into the existing sports space in the area, where there is a paddle tennis court and another for indoor soccer, basketball and other sports.

The Estepona City Council informs of the formalization of the contract for the construction of two new paddle tennis courts in the area of Nueva Atalaya, in the eastern outskirts of the municipality, specifically, between the streets Nueva Atalaya and Avenida Pernet.

The contract has been awarded to the company Equipamientos Deportivos, S.A., for an amount of 124,503 euros (VAT included), in accordance with the corresponding administrative procedure.

The new courts will be located on a plot of approximately 400 square meters and will be integrated into the existing sports space in the area, which currently has a paddle tennis court and a multi-sports court for the practice of indoor soccer, basketball and other sports.

The execution period for the works will be three months from the start of the works, as established in the contract. The programmed work includes the leveling and improvement of the plot, its clearing, the construction of the new courts, as well as the provision of electricity and rainwater drainage services.

This action is part of the council’s plan to provide the suburbs with functional infrastructures. In this way, free access to sports is guaranteed as a tool to improve the health and well-being of the population.

Thus, it reaffirms the commitment to promote physical activity as a fundamental part of a healthy lifestyle, while contributing to social cohesion and sustainable development of the municipality.
