Foreign Residents’ Day reaches its 25th edition in Estepona

The event will be held this Saturday, April 25, from 12:00 to 21:00 hours in the surroundings of the Torre Mirador del Carmen and will bring together 26 countries in a day of coexistence in which gastronomy, crafts and cultural activities will be the protagonists.
The Estepona City Council informs that next Saturday, April 25, will be held a new edition of the Foreign Resident Day, which will take place from 12:00 to 21:00 hours in the surroundings of the Mirador del Carmen Tower. On this occasion, the event reaches its 25th anniversary, consolidating itself as one of the most emblematic events of the cultural calendar of the municipality.
This event, organized by the Consistory, will feature the participation of nearly thirty stands of international groups that will show the typical products, cuisine and crafts of their countries of origin, making this space a multicultural meeting point open to neighbors and visitors.
The deputy mayor of the Extraradio area, Begoña Ortiz, said that the aim of this annual event is to continue strengthening ties and promoting coexistence between citizens of different nationalities residing in Estepona, as well as offering a unique opportunity to learn and share the traditions, folklore and customs of the different cultures present in the city. The mayor stressed the special nature of this commemorative edition, which highlights the value of the trajectory of an event that for 25 years has helped to strengthen integration and diversity in the city.
In this edition, will participate a total of 26 countries that are Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, France, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Mexico, Paraguay, Poland, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic, Romania, Ukraine and Venezuela and the Nordic Club representing Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. In addition to all of them, for the first time Austria will also have its own stand at the event.
This year, the recognition to the foreign resident will go to Herling Robins known as “H-salsa singer”, of Colombian nationality and neighbor of Estepona, who has been collaborating with the Foreign Resident’s Day for more than two decades and encouraging all attendees with his Latin rhythms and his energy on stage.
Begoña Ortiz has also pointed out that “on the occasion of the 25th anniversary, we did not want to forget the valuable work of local international magazines over the years, so it will also be distinguished in this edition”. In addition, there will be a stand where all the local international magazines and media will be represented.

The Day of the Foreign Resident celebrates its 25th anniversary and reaffirms itself as a symbol of coexistence, integration and respect between cultures in Estepona, a reflection of an open and plural city.
