Leonor Leal, from Jerez, teaches in Estepona the body expression workshop ‘From voice, one body’.

The renowned dancer from Jerez will offer a proposal that explores the relationship between movement, music and stage expression.

The Estepona City Council informs that the renowned dancer Leonor Leal will give a free body expression workshop “De voz, un cuerpo”, which will take place on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 pm in the exhibition hall of the Library of Contemporary Cultures. This activity is part of the cultural program for the first quarter of this space.

The workshop proposes an investigation on the body as an expressive instrument, delving into the relationship between voice, rhythm and movement. It is aimed at people with dance experience as well as anyone interested in exploring new forms of corporal expression from a contemporary perspective linked to flamenco.

Born in Jerez de la Frontera, Leonor Leal began her dance training at the age of 9 and graduated in classical and Spanish dance at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Seville, also completing studies in Musical Education at the University of Seville. She has perfected her training with outstanding flamenco masters and has developed a solid professional career in companies such as Andrés Marín and the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, under the direction of Cristina Hoyos.

Since 2008, Leal has been developing her career as a creator and solo dancer, with critically acclaimed shows such as ‘eLe eLe’, with which she won the award for Best New Artist at the Jerez Festival and ‘Mosaicos’, where she investigates the connections between geometry, music and dance. Her work has led her to perform on numerous international stages and to combine her artistic career with an intense teaching work in Spain and abroad.
