The Casa de Las Tejerinas will host an exhibition of glass painting by the artist Ana María Luque Rojas.

The exhibition of the artist from Manilva ‘The tree of life’ can be visited from August 28 to September 17, with free access.
Estepona City Council reports that the Room 2 of Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from August 28 an exhibition of glass painting by the artist Ana Maria Luque manilveña.
‘The tree of life’ is a collection of 20 glass paintings “where I reflect a period of my life of profound change and transformation, in which I devoted myself to various spiritual studies, seeking a meaning to existence.”
Some works reflect very old stories, hidden secrets about the thread of life that recall the maxim that “When you believe it, you create it, and it manifests”.
The artist uses glass to reflect, on the one hand, fragility, and on the other, the surprising impact that light produces on the texture, when it passes through it. The recycled material sends another message, a simple one, “that much of what we throw away is valuable and we can transform it with a touch of attention, beauty and art.”
“For me it was a pleasure to do it, and an incentive that motivated me to continue and go through difficult moments I just put my hands and good music. Inspiration, did everything else, I received.”
The exhibition can be visited until September 17, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 to 20:00 hours, and Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 hours, with free access.
Ana María Luque Rojas was born in Manilva on November 21, 1970, where she currently resides with her family.
Self-taught, throughout his life he has made works with pastel, acrylic and oil techniques, and has enjoyed the art of restoration and decoration of furniture. He has also painted murals and frescoes and, for several years, he has been developing his skills in illustration and glass painting. This texture allows to generate works quickly because of its fast drying, and offers very transparent, bright and colorful finishes.
The materials he uses are mostly recycled, and the very ability of pigment to be reused makes possible the transformation of the works, and a better use of resources.
Through the symbolic language of art, this artist shares with us her daily experiences, as well as her knowledge of spirituality, which is reflected in some of her works, such as those with a cabalist theme and astrology.
