The Casa de Las Tejerinas will host the painting exhibition of the painter and writer Miguel Ángel Martos Sánchez.
The pictorial exhibition will be open to the public from March 19 to April 15.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from March 19 an exhibition of paintings by the Cadiz artist based in Malaga, Miguel Angel Martos.
The exhibition, entitled ‘Retrospective’, consists of a total of 17 works, mainly acrylics on paper, board and canvas, and can be visited until April 15, Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 to 20:00 hours, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00 hours, with free access.
Miguel Ángel Martos Sánchez was born in Cádiz, in 1970, and has lived in Málaga since he was a child. Graduated in plastic arts by the School of art and design of San Telmo, Malaga, specializing in artistic photography.
He is a painter and writer. As a painter, his work would be framed in the figurative style, with influences from the illustration of stories and the world of comics and, sometimes, with a naive touch. Inspired by the classical world or contemporary motifs, his paintings are dominated by the use of color, combined in a cheerful and luminous way, avoiding somber and neutral tones.
His works are composed of scenes with a certain narrative message, with evocative landscapes in some cases and classical or modern architectures in others, where people almost always appear as a fundamental part of the compositions.
His first exhibition was in 1994, when one of his works was selected in the Painting Contest of the Lions Club of Malaga, in the Sala Unicaja. Another of his works was selected for the I Painting and Sculpture Contest Arteforum, in Seville, in 1998. Since then, he has been exhibiting his work in local venues, art galleries and Casas de la Cultura of different municipalities in the province.
Between 2003 and 2008 she was a member of the Association of Plastic Artists of Malaga, Aplama, participating in several of their group exhibitions.
