The City Council continues advancing with the plan to improve safety on rural roads with works in the area of La Pileta.

In this location the Consistory is building a new breakwater wall 30 meters long and 3 meters high. Also it has acted in the same way in the roads of La Cala, Loma de Atanasio and Huertas del Padrón, in addition to other actions are planned in more rural roads.
The Estepona City Council reports that continues to advance in the improvement plan to provide greater security to rural roads, this time with the construction of a breakwater wall on the road of La Pileta, which runs from the area of Monterroso to the municipal cemetery Santo Cristo de la Vera Cruz.
Since this road was in bad condition due to the rains fallen during the last year, which caused a landslide, for the Consistory it was necessary this action through which the retaining structure is being repaired. In this way, the road surface will be secured, major landslides will be avoided and greater safety will be achieved.
The works, which represent an investment of 35,000 euros (VAT included), consist of the cleaning up of the affected area, where the loose soil has been removed and new gravel has been added. The next step will be the construction of the breakwater wall, which is 30 meters long and 3 meters high. The ditches have also been cleaned and next week a layer of concrete will be added to the road surface.
These works are in addition to those already undertaken with the construction of breakwater walls on the roads of La Cala and Loma de Atanasio, and with the one being executed in Huertas del Padrón. In addition, the Town Council plans to continue carrying out works to improve safety on more rural roads, through other actions such as stabilization and drainage both longitudinally and transversally.
