The City Council creates an app that offers free tourist guides to discover the cultural and natural heritage of Estepona

Nine thematic routes that invite you to tour the city in a practical, sustainable and personalized way. The project is part of Estepona’s Tourism Sustainability Plan, financed with Next Generation European funds.
The Estepona City Council reports that it has launched an innovative mobile application that allows citizens and visitors to learn about the cultural, historical and natural wealth of the municipality in a sustainable and accessible way. Through the Aumentur app, available free of charge for iOS and Android, users can access nine digital guides with detailed information on the main points of interest in the town. The platform offers content in four languages, including text, audio, images, videos and 3D models.
Replacing the traditional audio guides and paper brochures, this application incorporates intelligent technology that allows users to explore the places of interest through GPS geolocation or QR codes, ensuring a more comfortable and environmentally friendly experience. In total, almost 300 points of interest have been geolocated, distributed in nine thematic routes, including: charming corners, Estepona step by step (in 2h and 4h), Route of the sculptures, Route of the murals, Route of poetry, coastal corridor, Estepona beaches and nature trails.
In addition, the application has full accessibility, with specific adaptations for people with reduced visibility, and keeps its contents updated and optimized on an ongoing basis.
The councilor attached to the area of Extraradio, Begoña Ortiz, stressed that this initiative “is a step forward in the digital and sustainable transformation of tourism in Estepona, offering visitors a modern and attractive way to discover the city”. She also stressed that the application “reduces paper consumption and promotes a more responsible tourism”. This project is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan of Estepona, financed with European funds Next Generation.
To facilitate its use, the Municipal Tourism Office, located in the Casa de las Tejerinas (Plaza de las Flores), has installed informative posters with QR codes that allow direct access to the guides. These will also be available in other municipal offices and tourist establishments. With this new tool, Estepona continues its commitment to innovation, accessibility and sustainability, consolidating itself as an intelligent destination committed to the experience of its visitors.
