The City Council informs about the traffic cuts on the occasion of the Peñas Blancas-Los Reales Cycle Tourist March.

It will take place on Sunday, March 22, and from 07.50 to 12.20 hours the road up to Sierra Bermeja (MA 8301) will be closed to traffic.

The City Council of Estepona informs of the traffic cuts that will occur on Sunday, March 22, on the occasion of the celebration of the Marcha Cicloturista Estepona-Peñas Blancas-Los Reales. For this reason, from 07.50 to 12.20 hours the road up to Sierra Bermeja, the MA 8301, will be closed to traffic, in order to ensure the safety of participants.

This Marcha Cicloturista is held to celebrate that the Peñas Blancas-Los Reales climb has been highlighted with the category of ‘Mítica’ by the Spanish Cycling Federation. Thanks to this recognition, this route becomes one of the most important of the national scene for its unique characteristics in terms of distance, slope, gradient and altitude.

The test, which is not competitive and is recreational in nature, will have a route of 23 kilometers, which will run through a street circuit of about 4.6 kilometers, giving way to the ascent to Los Reales-Peñas Blancas through the MA-8301 road, whose distance is approximately 19.4000 kilometers. The start will be from 08.00 hours from the Fair and Sports Park.

The route of the march will run along San Eusebio street, Guillermo Cabrera street, Los Reales avenue, Andalusia avenue, Spain avenue, Terraza street, Andalusia avenue, Los Reales avenue, MA-8301 (up to the Puerto de Peñas Blancas and arrival at Salvador Guerrero square).

During the route participants will find information panels installed by the City Council and approved by the Spanish Cycling Federation, informing them that they are riding a route considered ‘Mythical’.

Registrations, which are free of charge, are open to people over 15 years of age or those who will turn 15 during 2026. Those under 18 years of age must present a signed authorization from their mother, father or guardian. Registrations can be made until March 20 at dorsalchip.es and include liability insurance. If there are vacancies, registrations can be made the same day of the march from 07.30 to 07.50 hours, in the same place of the start, up to a maximum of 300 participants.
