The City Council intensifies the cleaning work for Easter with more personnel and machinery.

A total of 15 operators will be incorporated with machinery such as pressure washers, brushes and strippers. In addition, in the suburban area, a crane truck will be incorporated for the collection of furniture and household goods and a brigade truck for the collection of furniture and household goods.

Estepona City Council reports that this March has begun the annual reinforcement of the street cleaning service and collection of household goods and bulky with the addition of 15 operators who will serve until November. The deputy mayor of the area of External Control and Resource Management, Blas Ruzafa, explained that this reinforcement coincides with the arrival of Easter and the start of the tourist season. A time when the presence of visitors, tourists and people who have second homes in the municipality increases significantly.

This increase in population during the coming months makes it necessary to expand the resources for cleaning and maintenance of the city, in order to ensure the good condition of streets and public spaces to the increased activity and traffic of people.

Among the main measures to be implemented is the creation of a new shift of sweepers in the afternoon and the increase of pressure washers, which will allow to intensify the cleaning work and improve the maintenance of streets and public spaces. Likewise, this reinforcement will facilitate the extension of the coverage in the neighborhoods of the city and respond more effectively to the cleaning needs in different areas of the municipality.

In addition, from next April will be incorporated an additional team that will work specifically in the suburban areas, with the aim of strengthening the maintenance and cleaning in these areas. In this sense, Ruzafa has pointed out that a crane truck will be incorporated for the removal of household goods and a brigade truck for cleaning around the containers, in addition, the maintenance of containers throughout the suburbs will also be reinforced.

This reinforcement in terms of cleaning has begun in the area of the promenade and boulevard, where specific cleaning work is being carried out using pressure washers, mechanical brushes and stripping machinery to remove the most embedded dirt on pavements and sidewalks. This work will be progressively extended to the rest of the city over the next few weeks. In addition, as in previous years, detergents with orange blossom scent will be used in the street cleaning work.

The municipal responsible has reported that to carry out this action have been extended work shifts and the use of vehicles equipped with high pressure water systems, in addition to a tanker for the work of sweeping. The services will operate from Monday to Friday, while on weekends and holidays a specific hydro-cleaning shift will be maintained to ensure cleanliness in areas with high pedestrian traffic.
