The City Council opens registration for the XV Ruta de la Tapa ‘Saborea Estepona’, to be held from April 17 to 19.

The establishments participating in the contest ‘La Mejor Tapa 2026’ will be eligible for 3,500 € in prizes. The registration period will remain open until March 27th.

The City Council of Estepona informs that the registration period is open to participate in the XV Ruta de la Tapa ‘Saborea Estepona’, framed in the cultural event ‘Estepona vive sus calles 2026’, whose celebration will take place from 17 to 19 April. This event aims to promote the gastronomic culture of the town and the popular tradition of ‘tapas’, while publicizing and highlighting the gastronomic offer of Estepona.

As in each edition, bars and restaurants located in the municipality of Estepona, who will also participate in the contest ‘The Best Tapa 2026’.

Both the rules and the registration form are available on the Notice Board of the Electronic Headquarters of the City Council. Registrations can be made electronically at the General Register of the City Council, until March 27 of this year.

The registered establishments will compete for three prizes of 1,000 €, 500 € and 250 € for the best tapas chosen by customers, by popular vote, and three other prizes for the same amounts for the best tapas chosen by a professional jury made up of people of recognized professional experience in the world of catering and hospitality. Therefore, the same tapa will be eligible for two prizes, one in each category. In addition, the three most voted establishments will be recognized with a plaque by the City Council.

Participants will offer the tapa + drink (beer, soft drink or water) for 3.50 € and tapa + wine for 4.50 € during the established hours: Friday, April 17, from 20:00 to 23:00 hours; Saturday, April 18, from 13:00 to 16:00 and from 20:00 to 23:00 hours; and Sunday, April 19, from 13:00 to 16:00 hours.

Among other sponsors of the Ruta de la Tapa, Frutas & Verduras Acosta will give each participant 100 € in purchases of their products, for the preparation of their tapa.

As for the public, in addition to checking the excellence of local cuisine at affordable prices, you can participate in the contest ‘The Best Tapa 2026’, and in the draw for attractive prizes. To do this, the ‘passports’ must meet at least three stamps from different establishments registered in the Route, and deposit them duly completed in any of the ballot boxes provided for this purpose in the Tourist Office of the Plaza de las Flores, or in the Mayor’s Office of Cancelada.
