The City Council opens the call for 9 new Local Police positions, in addition to the 58 created in the previous public employment offers.

Applications to participate in the selective tests can be submitted until July 7.
The Estepona City Council informs that the Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the bases of a new public call for employment for nine positions in the Local Police Headquarters, in order to fill vacancies corresponding to the public employment offer of 2025. The bases were previously published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) in order to comply with the regulations governing public employment offers.
Specifically, the object of the call is the provision of 8 positions as career civil servant personnel, through the access system of free turn and through the selection procedure of opposition; and 1 position through the mobility system without promotion by the merit-based competition procedure.
After publication in the BOE yesterday Monday, from today Tuesday June 10 opens a period of 20 working days for those wishing to take part in the selective tests may submit their application addressed to the holder of the Mayor-Presidency of the City Council, stating that they meet each and every one of the requirements. The documentary accreditation of these requirements will be made together with the application before the end of the last day of presentation.
Applications shall be submitted preferably at the General Registry of the Town Hall through the procedure enabled in the electronic office of the Town Hall of Estepona at the link http://estepona.sedelectronica.es.
During the process, candidates must pass knowledge tests on the established syllabus, as well as physical and psycho-technical tests. Those who get a place will subsequently receive a training course at the Institute of Emergencies and Public Safety of Andalusia (IESPA).
These 9 places join the 58 that since 2011 have been created in the city by the City Council with the idea of strengthening the police force through various public calls for employment. The commitment of the Consistory is to continue strengthening the Local Police to cover all existing positions in the workforce, carrying out these procedures following the maximum public procurement allowed by the Central Government.
Parallel to the increase of the police staff, the government team has also been renewing the material means available to the agents, with a reinforcement of the fleet of vehicles, the renovation and improvement of the transmission system that allows better communication between agents, or the acquisition of bulletproof vests and anti-knife vests for the staff. In addition, work is being carried out to expand the current video surveillance system.
