The City Council will dedicate a public space in the city to Ana Mena, Estepona’s most internationally renowned artist.

The singer and actress, who was named Favorite Daughter of Estepona in 2020, has achieved one of the most successful musical careers in pop music in our country.

The government team will propose in the next ordinary plenary session that the Estepona City Council allocate a public space in the city to Ana Mena, the Estepona artist with the greatest international projection.

Singer, composer and actress, Ana Mena has become a reference in pop music in Spain, but also in the music scene in Italy and Latin American countries such as Mexico and Argentina.

Born in 1997, Ana Mena began in the world of music and acting as a child, subsequently developing a career that has led her to great stages and projects. She has also become one of the most loved and admired artists in our country, receiving awards such as the award for Best Song in the category Spain in Los40 Music Awards or the Medal of Andalusia to Culture and Heritage.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, believes that Ana Mena, who was already named Favorite Daughter of Estepona in 2020, now deserves this public space because she has become “one of the most authentic ambassadors of her hometown.” “In every step she takes, Ana Mena carries Estepona in her heart, proudly transmitting her Andalusian identity and making our municipality an even more universal place,” said the first mayor.

In this regard, he stressed that the artist, who has worked under the orders of Pedro Almodovar and who played the child star Marisol in a successful series, is “a lover of Estepona and whenever possible shows the world the soul of his city, its traditions and the richness of its natural beauty”.

The alderman has pointed out that Ana Mena is leaving “a deep mark” in popular music and also in “the hearts of his followers”, which number in the millions worldwide, as evidenced by record numbers of listeners and downloads on streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music.

In the list of milestones that make her one of the most successful pop artists of her generation, it is worth mentioning her international tour ‘Bellodrama Tour’, which for two years took her to tour more than fifty cities in countries like Spain, Mexico or Argentina, or the eleven consecutive months in which she was number 1 in the Italian radio charts for her collaborations with the artist Fred De Palma.
