The Municipal Band commemorates its 85th Founding Anniversary (1940-2025) in the Extraordinary Concert of Santa Cecilia, with which begins the new season of the symphonic cycle 2025-26

The concert will take place on Saturday, November 22, at 8:00 p.m., at the Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI, under the direction of Mtro. J.A. López Camacho, and will feature the historical recovery of the original manuscript of the posthumous work “Axar
Invitations can be picked up from Monday 17 at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel, from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 hours.
The City Council of Estepona informs that the Municipal Band will open the season 2025-2026 of the symphonic cycle 2025-2026 next Saturday, November 22, in the traditional Extraordinary Concert in honor of Santa Cecilia, which will take place at 20:00 hours in the Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI, where it will commemorate the 85th anniversary of its founding.
The concert of Santa Cecilia will be conducted by the titular and artistic director of the Municipal Band, José Antonio López Camacho, and will be divided into two parts: a first of symphonic music, in which the Band will perform the concert pasodoble “Música i Poble” by the Valencian composer Ferrer Ferran, and the historical recovery of the original manuscript of the posthumous work “Axarquía” by the maestro Perfecto Artola Prats, revised by the Esteponero musician José Antonio Cervantes, and a second part, in which the Band will be joined by the voices of the Magnum Mysterium Choir in a Lyrical Gala that will include a selection of zarzuela and opera choruses, such as the “Seguidillas” from the zarzuela “La Verbena de la Paloma”, in tribute to the 175th anniversary of the birth of Tomás Bretón.
The concert will be attended by Paloma Artola Küstner, granddaughter of Maestro Perfecto Artola Prats and president of the Asociación Cultural La Artística de Málaga.
During the performance of the fandango from the zarzuela “Doña Francisquita”, by Amadeo Vives, will perform, as guest artist, the castanet soloist Soraya Chico.
Invitations for this free concert can be collected from Monday, November 17 at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, Calle San Fernando, 2, from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00 hours.
