The Music Conservatory of Estepona opens the deadline for applications for the next course

A total of 48 places are available for piano, guitar, saxophone and clarinet lessons. The center is located in the Mirador del Carmen facilities.

Applications for a place in the first year at the Elementary Conservatory of Music in Estepona can be submitted from today, April 1. Students interested in receiving musical training during the 2026/2027 course can register until April 30 for the following instruments: clarinet, guitar, piano and saxophone.

In total, 48 places are offered, distributed as follows: 15 piano, 15 guitar, 12 saxophone and 6 clarinet.

Applications may be submitted electronically through the Virtual Secretariat of Centers, which will allow families to monitor the status of processing and rectify any possible incidents. It will also be possible to present the documentation in person at the Conservatory, located in the Mirador del Carmen Sociocultural Center, from Monday to Thursday afternoons, from 16:00 to 20:00 hours.

The aptitude tests will be held between May 18 and June 5, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Order of July 7, 2008, which regulates access to elementary music education in Andalusia.

In the case of applications for courses other than the first year, the center may call specific entrance examinations. This call will be published on July 13, 2026. In this case, the passing of the test does not guarantee the obtaining of a place, being this conditioned to the existence of vacancies at the moment of the adjudication. These tests, if called, will take place between September 1 and 9, 2026, in accordance with the regulations in force, and students already enrolled in these courses will not be able to participate in them.

The allocation of places will be carried out in accordance with the criteria established in the Order of March 13, 2013. In the case of students aspiring to the first year who have passed the aptitude test, the criterion of preferential age between 8 and 12 years old will be taken into account. Applicants over 12 years of age will be ranked, exclusively, according to the grade obtained in the aptitude test.

The Music Conservatory of Estepona, which is in its third year of existence, has been filling all the places offered. The center opened its doors in 2024 and is the result of the collaboration agreement reached between the City Council, which promoted its creation, and the Department of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Andalusian Government. Under the same, the Consistory gives part of the facilities of the Centro Sociocultural Mirador del Carmen to the Junta de Andalucía so that this musical training can be offered in the municipality.
