The Solidarity Car Rally ‘Oasis Raid’ 2026 will distribute second-life optical material on its journey through Morocco

Estepona will once again be the starting point for this solidarity expedition made up of almost fifty vehicles, which will depart on April 2 from the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos.

The Estepona City Council informs that the city will be again next Thursday, April 2, the official starting point of the Solidarity Motor Rally ‘Oasis Raid’ 2026, a non-timed orienteering and motor race aimed at all audiences, which combines adventure and solidarity, and which pays tribute to the great motorized crossings and raids through Africa.

The non-timed competition is organized by Motor Adventure S.L., in collaboration with the City Council. From 09.00 hours, the participating vehicles will enter an enclosed space in the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses, where the teams will be presented and will pass the technical checks. They will remain in this area until 13.00 hours, when the official departure will take place in the direction of the port of Algeciras, to leave for the African continent.

In this fifteenth edition of the activity, the ninth with starting point in Estepona, will participate almost fifty vehicles divided into two categories: ‘Raid’, consisting of small displacement vehicles registered in the 80s and 90s, and ‘All-Road’, of ‘SUVs’ and 4×4 vehicles. The caravan will cross the neighboring country of Morocco in an eight-day journey, and will travel a unique itinerary created for the occasion that will test the skill and dexterity of the participants in driving on the sand, and the mechanics of the vehicles.

One of the basic pillars of Oasis Raid is solidarity with the most disadvantaged inhabitants of the Moroccan territories where the event takes place. During the first route in 2026, the Oasis Raid will focus on the new main campaign: ‘MILyDOSgafas’. This innovative project will allow participants to wear prescription glasses or second-life sunglasses. In addition, a specialized optometry team will be able to examine the eyesight of people without resources in several communities in Morocco, and will provide them with the glasses that best suit their needs, significantly improving their quality of life.
