The City Council denies the hoax about the eviction of ADANA’s animal shelter.

The Estepona City Council denies the hoax that has spread about an alleged eviction of the shelter of the Association for the Rights of Abandoned Animals (ADANA). The government team wants to reassure citizens who have been able to believe this false news that has been spread by political parties and people who only seek tension in the municipality, although this may even harm an association that protects animals.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, today received the president of ADANA, Susie Brown, and Fernando Amores, a volunteer who for many years has stood out for the defense of animals in the municipality, and informed them that the association and the City Council were being victims of malicious hoaxes.

In April 2021, the Consistory ceded municipal facilities in Los Pedregales to ADANA free of charge for a period of 75 years. The plot, located in the area of Las Cabrerizas, has an area of 11,000 square meters. As established in the agreement reached four years ago, ADANA will be able to continue providing its services on this municipal land.

The alderman has taken advantage of the meeting to reiterate his gratitude for the magnificent work that this association has been doing, for more than two decades, with domestic animals that do not have a home. In that sense, remember that ADANA deals with the collection of pets that have no owner, providing them with a shelter where they remain awaiting adoption.

Therefore, the City Council of Estepona encourages people who are interested to come to the ADANA facilities for the adoption of one of these animals, which are cared for by volunteers.

It should also be noted that the Consistory collaborates every year with ADANA by making improvements in their environment and facilities. Thus, the access road is fixed and cleared several times a year, the septic tank is emptied and the machinery is maintained for the correct pumping of water in the facilities.
