Desserts from more than 20 countries can be tasted at the traditional “Sweet Christmas Encounter with a Taste of Malaga” organized by the City Council.

The aim of this event, to be held on December 11, is to showcase the Christmas traditions and pastries of the different nationalities living in the city.

The City Council of Estepona has organized another year the gastronomic-cultural event ‘Sweet Christmas Meeting with Taste of Malaga’, which is developed in collaboration with the project ‘Taste of Malaga’, which promotes the Provincial Council of Malaga.

The deputy mayor of the Extraradio area, Begoña Ortiz, explained that this activity, to be held next Thursday, December 11, at the Casa de Las Tejerinas, is intended to publicize the Christmas pastries of different nationalities living in the city.

Each participant will have approximately three minutes to explain the history of the Christmas dessert or cake presented, as well as some of the traditions that are maintained in their country of origin on the occasion of these holidays. Some twenty countries from all over the world will participate.

The activity will begin at 17.00 hours and is open to the public, who will be able to taste for free the typical Christmas sweets from different parts of the world.

This multicultural meeting is included in the project ‘Sharing Cultures’, whose main objective is to promote participation in the social and cultural life of Estepona citizens of foreign origin residing in the city, which today represent a third of its population with more than 135 different nationalities.
