The dancer and choreographer of Se llama Copla, Agustín Barajas, will give a free flamenco workshop at the Library of Contemporary Cultures.

The activity is part of the municipal cultural program and is aimed at all audiences.
The Estepona City Council informs that the renowned dancer and choreographer Agustin Barajas will give a free workshop on body expression “Movement is spirit: introduction to flamenco dance”. This activity is part of the cultural program of the first quarter of the Library of Contemporary Cultures and will take place on February 18 at 20:00 hours.
The workshop proposes an approach to flamenco from the body and movement as tools of expression and is open to both people with previous experience and the general public interested in discovering the language of flamenco dance.
Agustín Barajas, born in Granada in 1988, has a solid and extensive artistic career. Trained since he was 9 years old with leading figures such as Belén Maya, Eva Yerbabuena, Farruco, Antonio Canales, Manuel Liñán and Javier Latorre, he has developed his career as a dancer, choreographer and teacher both in Spain and internationally. He has toured Latin America, the Middle East, Turkey and Morocco, as well as performing on stages as important as the Shanghai Universal Expo 2010.
He is especially known for his work as choreographer and dancer of the popular Canal Sur Television program “Se llama Copla”, in which he participated for five seasons, becoming one of the most recognizable faces of the program and making an extensive tour with more than fifty concerts. He has also been part of the talent show “A tu vera” of Castilla-La Mancha Media and has created several productions of his own, including “Entre copla y flamenco”, “A mi aire” and “Bailo a Lorca de noviembre a noviembre”.
Also committed to teaching, Barajas has taught classes in reference spaces such as the Escuela Mariquilla and the Centro de Arte y Flamenco de Sevilla, and currently continues his artistic work in prominent flamenco tablaos in Granada.
