Patricia Simón, international conflict reporter, will present her book ‘Narrating the Abyss’ at the Library of Contemporary Cultures.

The journalist will share her experience in more than 25 countries affected by wars and humanitarian crises.
The Estepona City Council informs that the journalist and writer from Estepona, Patricia Simón, will present her book Narrating the Abyss on February 17 at 8:00 pm, at the Library of Contemporary Cultures, as part of the municipal cultural program.
Patricia Simón has a degree in Journalism and specializes in International Relations, with a focus on human rights and gender perspective. Throughout her career she has covered numerous international conflicts and humanitarian crises in more than 25 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the United States, reporting on wars, migration, gender violence and social inequalities.
She has worked in media outlets such as La Marea, is a regular contributor to the Carne Cruda program and Píkara Magazine and was co-founder of the digital media Periodismo Humano, a pioneer in journalism with a human rights approach in Spain.
Her committed journalistic work has also been awarded several prizes throughout her career.
In Narrating the Abyss, the author reflects on the practice of journalism in contexts of extreme violence and on the responsibility of narrating human suffering from an ethical and committed perspective.
